Mastering Ideological Training in "Horizon": A Guide for New Players
Dec 11,2024
Since diving into "Horizon," I've spent quite some time exploring its depths. This article aims to shed light on the concept of Ideological Training, especially for newcomers. If you find yourself stuck despite having sufficient battle power, the insights provided here could be just what you need.
In simple terms, Ideological Training resembles the "Progressive Challenge" mode found in various card games. Each level has specific power requirements, gradually unlocking as you progress. The main goal of this mode is to earn experience elixirs, which are crucial since daily experience gains in the game are relatively minimal. Advancing through Ideological Training according to your battle power is essential for character development.
Understanding the Basics of Ideological Training
This is a long-term endeavor. Once you find a way to push forward, seize the opportunity. Ideological Training becomes available after completing Chapter 6 of the main storyline. Simply click the sword icon in the top right corner and select "Ideological Training" to enter.
Each level offers unique rewards and challenge tasks. For instance, after perfectly clearing a specific level, you can farm that level in Infinite Mode for additional rewards. Therefore, the priority should be to clear levels first and then strive for full-star challenges.
Level Requirements and Modes
The number of levels corresponds to your progression in the main storyline, with each level having its own battle power requirements. However, you can still enter a level even if your team's overall battle power falls short; it's merely a guideline for difficulty. Each level features both Challenge Mode and Infinite Mode. Challenge Mode is a one-time level where achieving three stars yields no extra rewards on subsequent attempts. In contrast, Infinite Mode allows for unlimited farming as long as you have enough action points, serving as the primary source for experience elixirs.
Strategies for Success
When tackling Challenge Mode, you can complete the three achievements separately; there's no need to finish them all in one go. If you're struggling, consider taking it slow or researching the level's name for strategies. Many levels have mechanics that require specific approaches, and each level's challenge and completion requirements vary. You can check enemy information and configurations by clicking the button on the right side of the screen, which also includes helpful strategy tips.
Analyzing Specific Challenges
For example, in the Training Level 5, you need to review the configuration to understand that it features a Twisted Wraith leading two Bloodthirsty Zombies and two Wraiths arranged in a scattered formation. Pay attention to the action order displayed in the bottom right corner: the Twisted Wraith attacks first, followed by the Wraiths and then the Zombies. Strategically, you must deal with the Twisted Wraith first, as its attacks cannot be dodged. However, you can eliminate the smaller enemies based on the action order to reduce the level's threat.
It's crucial to note that the "Undead" refers to these five monsters, which inflict a continuous bleeding effect and can heal themselves. To overcome this, you need to address two main issues: how to manage the bleeding status and how to prevent the enemies from healing. Think about methods to cleanse the Debuff, such as overwhelming damage or applying healing prevention techniques. There are numerous strategies; finding the right one will lead to success. If your power is significantly lacking, it might be wise to wait until you are stronger.
Utilizing Community Resources
Selecting the recommended configuration in the top right corner allows you to access the official website, where you can find various player-cleared team compositions for each level. You can replicate these strategies or modify them to fit your own lineup. Additionally, Ideological Training supports idle play: after entering and starting the battle, click the blue droplet icon in the upper left corner to switch back to the map interface and choose whether to use auto-battle or return to the fight.
Adjusting Team Strategies
For those still encountering challenges with auto-battle, consider not only the recommended teams but also adjusting the action order. Placing characters who can reset cooldowns, provide unique buffs, or possess taunting abilities at the front can significantly enhance your chances of clearing levels. This advice primarily pertains to auto-play; if you're manually controlling the characters, you might not need to worry as much.
Additional Tips for New Players
New players should focus on understanding enemy mechanics and team synergy. Engaging with the community through forums and guides can provide valuable insights into overcoming difficult levels. Moreover, experimenting with different character combinations can lead to discovering effective strategies tailored to your playstyle.
Lastly, don't hesitate to revisit previous levels as your characters grow stronger. This can yield additional resources and experience, further enhancing your team's capabilities for future challenges.
